Happy English Village foreeign teacher had a chance to teach English in Mei-Hua Elementary school and to experience the local culture in Daxi District. In this field trip, students and teachers had a different learning experience. Walking and talking along the old streets and among some vintage buildings. It’s the school’s purpose that foreign teachers might get to know this beautiful town and learn to love Daxi. In the morning, foreign teachers were greeted with special top playing performed by Mei-Hua students. The top playing team been famous for their excellent skills and has been invited to perform in different occasions. Foreign teachers not only were entertained, They took the chance to play with tops in different sizes. It’s was so amazin. I couldn’t beleive it. The students were very skill. The spinning top is the best in Taiwan. Very good. Followed was a class designed to focus on international education. Three countries covered were the United States, Mexico, and Ireland. Severial actiivities were included. First of all, short passages about the countries were introduced and read. They talked about the symbols of the countries. food, Sports, and animals. The students learned about danced of the countries. Teachers used English through the whole class. And the end of the class, the national anthems were played. and students said the passages and danced. The class went very well. Both teachers and students had a good time. I feel the foreign teachers are nice and the classes are interesting. Very excited. By doing these, students learn about other cultures. and they really enjoy being with the foreign teacher. Through all the fun activities, our students have found their interest and motivation When dancing, students have to listen carefully too the counts. I think that’s a great improvement. They do better than I expected. I feel these all great expeiences and the students enjoy themselves. could using English and the dancing A really good time. After the morning session, foreign teachers spent their afternoon discovering the beauty of Daxi. The pleasant walk started from Daxi Bridge. then stairs up to the center of the town and along Hoping Old Street. The intricate European styles of the baroque architectures witness the glory of the history. One of the places they visited was Taouuuan City Daxi Woodart Ecomuseum. A guided tour was narrated in English by Miss Huang, a local volunteer to help foreign visitors understand the different stages of the history of Daxi They also visited The First Building, a Japanese style bungalo that was built in 1920. It used to be a privately owned property but has now opened to the public. It’s a great small building. I can not believe that it was a dormitory Japanese style incredible that I never seen. A Japanese building like that before in person. Very helpful. The culture just see a new culture at the magazin Just to know that how people live in other world part of the world. I mean I visit a lot of places but it’s realy. The field triip not only provided English Village foreign teachers a chance to know more about English education in rural area. it also helped students motivate their learning.
